NPL preview: Victory v Brunswick

Melbourne Victory hosts Brunswick City in the PlayStation 4 NPL2 West.
Melbourne Victory is out to bounce back when it hosts Brunswick City in the PlayStation 4 NPL2 West on Saturday.

Victory has suffered back-to-back losses and sits fourth on the table at the halfway mark of the season.

Head coach Gareth Naven said his team was focused on improvement ahead of the Round 15 clash at Epping Stadium.

"We've been looking at set-pieces, in attack and defence," he said.

"And trying to continue to improve our performance in regards to our midfield play and trying to make the best of our opportunities in trying to finalise a goal, whether it's crossing the ball, shots from long distance or combinations in the attacking third.

"That’s been the main focus."

Victory's losses came away to Dandenong City and Ballarat City and on the back of a six-match unbeaten run.

Winger Christian Theoharous struck for a sixth time this season in the defeat in Ballarat, continuing his fine campaign.

Brunswick is fifth on the table and only trails fourth-placed Victory by goal difference.

The last meeting between Victory and Brunswick City saw the former claim a 9-1 win in June 2015.

Victory members receive free entry to all PS4 NPL2 West home games in 2017. For non-members, tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for concession, with kids under 15 free.
