A-League preview: City v Victory

Melbourne Victory is aiming for back-to-back A-League wins when it faces City in the Derby at AAMI Park on Saturday.

Summary

Victory recorded a much-needed 2-1 win over the Newcastle Jets last time out.

Dylan Ryan and Lleyton Brooks scored their first goals for the club in the come-from-behind win at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Brooks came off the bench to tuck away the winner after a cutback from the tireless Luis Lawrie-Lattanzio.

Victory was boosted by its youngsters, with Brooks, 20, making his first senior appearance of the campaign.

The Derby is Victory's next challenge as it looks to build on its win over the Jets.

Victory headed to Newcastle without Ryan Shotton (knee), Leigh Broxham (hamstring), Rudy Gestede (knee) and Marco Rojas (ankle).

Robbie Kruse and goalkeeper Max Crocombe were withdrawn from the initial extended squad late.
