A-League preview: Wanderers v Victory

Melbourne Victory is targeting a response in the A-League when it visits the Western Sydney Wanderers on Wednesday.

Summary

After two games without defeat, Victory was well beaten 5-2 by Brisbane Roar last time out.

It faces a short turnaround with a trip to Bankwest Stadium to take on the Wanderers.

Victory was punished for a slow start against the Roar, although first-half goals from Luis Lawrie-Lattanzio and Jake Brimmer kept it in the game before Brisbane claimed all three points.

The goal was Lawrie-Lattanzio's first at senior level and came after Adama Traore's second assist of the season.

Brimmer, meanwhile, has scored five goals in 10 games for Victory since joining in October last year.

Victory could regain Rudy Gestede and Callum McManaman for the clash against the Wanderers after both missed the Brisbane encounter due to injuries.

Marco Rojas could also make a milestone appearance for Victory.

The attacker is one game away from becoming the 17th player to feature in 100 matches for the club in all competitions.
