Melbourne Victory would like to congratulate, Angela Beard, on her move to KR Reykjavik in Iceland’s top-tier.

Beard, a member of the club’s 2018/19 Premiership-wining squad, has joined Iceland’s oldest football club ahead of the upcoming season of the Úrvalsdeild Kvenna.

Westfield W-League Head Coach, Jeff Hopkins, wished Angela all the best at KR Reykjavik.

“On behalf of everyone at Melbourne Victory, I’d like to congratulate Angela on her move to KR Reykjavik,” Hopkins said.

“Angela has been a tremendous player for our club over a number of seasons, she is highly respected by her teammates and an extremely driven and talented player with a bright future ahead of her.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for Ange, we wish her all the best on the move to Iceland and she will always be welcome to come home to the Victory family.”

Beard thanked Hopkins and the club for all they’d done during her time at Victory.

“I can’t thank Melbourne Victory enough for the opportunity they’ve given me since I arrived in 2017,” Beard said.

“Thank you to Jeff Hopkins, all my teammates and football staff for supporting me and challenging me to get better. It’s been an enjoyable and rewarding few years at the club and I can’t thank you enough.

“To the Chairman, Board and administration, thank you for the way you have supported the W-League program, it truly is the best in the country.

“Thank you also to all the members and fans who’ve turned up and supported us each week. It’s been an honour to wear the Victory shirt, and hopefully I can do it again in the future.”

Beard arrived at Victory ahead of the 2017/18 Westfield W-League season and played 37 games in the navy blue.
