Community diary: December 2009

Melbourne Victory continued its support of charity partner The Smith Family in the lead up to Christmas, with The Smith Family Ambassador Matthew Kemp and teammates Nathan Elasi, Robbie Kruse, Surat Sukha, Sutee Suksomkit and Rodrigo Vargas assisting volunteers with the packing of thousands of hampers to assist families in need.

Melbourne Victory continued its support of charity partner The Smith Family in the lead up to Christmas, with The Smith Family Ambassador Matthew Kemp and teammates Nathan Elasi, Robbie Kruse, Surat Sukha, Sutee Suksomkit and Rodrigo Vargas assisting volunteers with the packing of thousands of hampers to assist families in need.

“It’s great we could be involved in physically packing the hampers,” Kemp said.

“The Smith Family does such a great job, and it’s really nice we can get hands on and help out.

“For myself and the other boys it’s a great opportunity, it’s very humbling to be a part of.”

Melbourne Victory Youth captain Aziz Behich was a special guest at The Smith Family Annual Supporter’s Lunch, which acknowledged outstanding students of the Learning for Life program.

Junior players from Football Federation Victoria’s Victorian Champions League competition in Keysborough and Darebin enjoyed visits from Leigh Broxham, Mate Dugandzic, Matthew Foschini, Carlos Hernandez, Glen Moss and Surat Sukha during their final training sessions for the year.

Melbourne Victory members and supporters were offered an exclusive shopping opportunity at the Victory Shop, with merchandise discounts and players Evan Berger, Glen Moss, Surat Sukha and Sutee Suksomkit, spreading the Christmas cheer.
