Melbourne Victory Chairman Anthony Di Pietro has addressed the disappointment of the club’s semi-final loss in Sydney last Sunday.

Speaking at Friday’s Victory in Business luncheon, presented by AGL Energy, Di Pietro apologised on behalf of the club.

“Together as a club, we’re sorry for the disappointment that everyone has suffered,” Mr Di Pietro said.

“The Melbourne Victory Football Club can’t, and won’t, apologise for our relentless pursuit of success.

“We set ourselves the highest benchmarks, it is part of our DNA and it is because of that we enjoy the highs and we have been fortunate enough to have had many of them.”

Di Pietro indicated the hard work for next season has already begun.

“We are a strong, proud club and we will regroup – the motivation to be second-to-none in everything we do will burn in our bellies until we can take to the pitch again next season.”

Proudly presented by AGL, Victory in Business is Australia’s largest sporting networking group outside of game day.
