Fan update: Search for Head Coach

Melbourne Victory Football Club wishes to provide an update on recent developments surrounding its search for a Head Coach.

Melbourne Victory Football Club wishes to provide an update on recent developments surrounding its search for a Head Coach.

After much deliberation the Board of Directors compiled a short-list of candidates, and first round interviews with both Australian and International coaches have recently concluded. This process has been thorough, and as a result, took a number of weeks to complete – due in part to the difficult nature of scheduling both phone and face-to-face presentations across varying time-zones.

A further short-list of coaches will progress to second round interviews, before the club will decide upon the appointment.

Melbourne Victory Chairman, Anthony Di Pietro, is satisfied things are moving in the right direction; “we haven’t rushed the process as we were comfortable with the structures we had in place during the AFC Champions League.

“It’s been a very interesting and challenging process and we’ve certainly been impressed with the applicants.

“We have now further short-listed the candidates and will conduct second round interviews shortly, with a view to making an announcement regarding the new coaching structure in the coming weeks.” he added.

Melbourne Victory will not be making any further comment at this point.
