FOX8’s hit reality series Football Superstar returns for Series Two this Wednesday at 7:30pm, as a brand new search gets underway for Australia-s most talented young footballer.

After hundreds of hopefuls turned out in force to compete in gruelling tryouts around Australia, 15 players were chosen to take part in the opportunity of a lifetime – the chance to land a prestigious Hyundai A-League contract with Melbourne Victory, alongside a one-year scholarship with Monash University – and to become Australia-s next Football Superstar.

Melbourne Victory Coach Ernie Merrick heads up the judging panel this year and is joined by Melbourne Victory Assistant Coach Aaron Healey and Football Superstar mentor Vitale Ferrante, who will put the contestants through their paces in search of that X factor that could prove the difference between victory and defeat for Melbourne Victory in 2009/10.

Throughout the series, the boys will be put through their paces as they compete in a selection of physical and mental challenges every week and play football matches against some of Australia-s leading football teams.

As the final 15 are pushed to their limits and weaknesses are exposed, one-by-one players will be eliminated by the judges until only three remain – and Merrick will anoint one lucky player the ultimate winner – and Australia-s newest Football Superstar.

Returning as host is Irish singer/songwriter Brian McFadden and joining him in the co-hosting seat this season is Fox Sports presenter Lee Furlong.

Football Superstar is an 8-part reality series, produced for FOX8 by North One Television Australia.
