Melbourne Victory Football Club has received an election commitment of $1.6 million from the Andrews Labor Govenment, the Minister for Sport, the Hon. John Eren, has announced.

The funds would support Melbourne Victory’s award-winning community programs.

“This commitment demonstrates the importance and quality of the work undertaken by Melbourne Victory across Victoria,” Minister Eren said.

“Sport is a wonderful vehicle to facilitate inclusion and personal development, and via their programs Melbourne Victory is able to educate young people about health and wellbeing, social skills and the benefits of an active lifestyle.”

Melbourne Victory proudly support a wide range of community initiatives, including engaging people from diverse backgrounds to encourage them to experience football and be physically active.

Importantly, the Club’s programs use football to provide opportunities for young people experiencing disadvantage.

“We are enormously proud of our achievements to date and our role in the community,” Melbourne Victory CEO Trent Jacobs said.

“We are grateful to Minister Eren and the State Government for their continued support.”
