Melbourne Victory’s National Youth League and National Premier League Head Coach, Gareth Naven, has been invited to join the Olyroos Under-23 Training Camp this week.
Naven will form part of the coaching team with Gary van Egmond for the camp, and will help prepare the squad for their upcoming two-match series against the New Zealand Under-23 team in Wollongong and Campbelltown.
Melbourne Victory defender, Thomas Deng will be a familiar face for Naven in the 24-man squad that will be using the series as vital preparation ahead of the Olympic Games qualification tournament in January.
In Naven’s absence, Melbourne Victory General Manager Technical & Coaching, Drew Sherman, will oversee Victory’s NPL clash with St Albans this weekend.
