As his team made history, Melbourne Victory head coach Jeff Hopkins did likewise during Sunday’s record-breaking Derby win over City.

Hopkins became the first coach in Westfield W-League history to coach 100 games.

The two-time Coach of the Year has led Victory in 52 games after taking charge of Brisbane Roar 48 times between 2008 and 2012.

Alen Stajcic has coached the second most games in the Westfield W-League with 86.

Hopkins, 56, has won two Westfield W-League Championships and two Premierships.

He led Victory to its first Premier’s Plate in 2018/19, when it claimed a club-record 24 points.

Victory celebrated Hopkins’ milestone with a 6-0 thrashing of City, the biggest win in Westfield W-League Derby history.

Annalie Longo, Melina Ayres, Lisa De Vanna, Amy Jackson, Catherine Zimmerman and Kyra Cooney-Cross scored in the resounding win.
