The independent Match Review Panel convened on Tuesday to consider an incident involving Melbourne Victory assistant coach Jean-Paul de Marigny in or around the 36th minute of Monday night’s match against Newcastle Jets.

The MRP has the authority to consider the incident as de Marigny was expelled from the match by the referee.

The MRP determined that de Marigny used offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures. The minimum sanction for the offence is the Mandatory Match Suspension.

The MRP has proposed a sanction of three matches, being the Mandatory Match Suspension plus two additional matches.

De Marigny has accepted the three-match sanction proposed by the MRP.
