Jenna McCormick moves to Real Betis

Melbourne Victory would like to thank defender Jenna McCormick for her time in the navy blue, following her decision to move to Europe to continue her playing career.

McCormick has signed with Real Betis Balompié in Spain’s top-flight for the upcoming season of the Primera Iberdrola.

Westfield W-League Head Coach, Jeff Hopkins, thanked Jenna for her service to the club.

“Jenna was a wonderful addition to our squad this season, and we thank her for her service and professionalism while at Victory,” Hopkins said.

“Jenna is such a driven and talented player, and to have someone of her calibre in our program has been highly beneficial. Jenna has helped us drive the standards we expect of our players on and off the pitch.

“While we would have liked Jenna to remain in the navy blue for the upcoming season, we are really pleased for her and we wish her all the best for the move to Spain.”

McCormick said she enjoyed the professional environment of Victory’s W-League program.

“Melbourne Victory is such a professional club, and I want to thank the Chairman, Board, football and administration staff who have put so much hard work into the W-League program,” McCormick said.

“Whenever we stepped into the club we felt at home, we felt well looked after and we were genuinely supported.

“Thank you to Jeff Hopkins, my teammates and all the support staff for their support and hard work. You all made it such a thoroughly enjoyable season.

“Thank you also to all the passionate members and fans, I’ve really enjoyed playing in front of you and appreciate all your support throughout the season and finals campaign.

“I am sad to be leaving Melbourne Victory, but I know this is a great move for my career and would love to come back and play for the club at some stage in the future.”

McCormick played 12 games for Victory during the 2019/20 Westfield W-League season.
