Melbourne Victory today announces that, after months of hard work, promising youngster, Julius Davies, has finally been cleared to play for the club.

Davies, 17, has signed a National Youth League contract with Melbourne Victory and has been immediately promoted to the senior squad for tonight-s clash with Wellington Phoenix at AAMI Park.

Having spent the best part of three months trying to attain all of the required clearances, the club is delighted to have secured the services of such a talented young player.

Prior to returning to Australia, Davies had spent time plying his trade in Germany, including a two-year stint at European giants, FC Bayern Munich.

Melbourne Victory Coach, Jim Magilton, was understandably relieved to have finally got his man, “There-s no doubt that Julius is a very exciting young prospect.”

“He-s been with us for a few months now, so we-ve had the opportunity to have a really good look at him and he hasn-t put a foot wrong.”

“We-re delighted to now have him as a permanent member of the squad,“ Magilton added.

Davies will wear number 29 for the remainder of the Hyundai A-League 2011/12 season.
