Melbourne Victory has confirmed they remain very much interested in the services of Socceroo Harry Kewell.

Despite conjecture around the future home of Kewell, Victory Managing Director Richard Wilson said the club remains eager to deal with Kewell through his manger Bernie Mandic.

“We want to confirm Melbourne Victory remains extremely interested in securing the services of Harry Kewell,” Wilson said on Monday.

“Our offer is with Harry and his management, the consideration of that deal now rests firmly with them.”

“We are very hopeful that Harry will be playing for Melbourne Victory, we-ve put together a very strong proposal to bring Harry to Melbourne Victory.”

Kewell’s future in the Hyundai A-League has been a matter of much debate, with the former Leeds, Liverpool and Galatasaray star linked to a number of clubs.

Wilson did not wish to speculate on any discussions between FFA and Kewell and Mandic.

“We’ll leave that to them to talk about their interests in Harry and their negotiations with Harry,” Wilson said.

“Our negotiations with Bernie are very different. Bernie is there to act in the interests of his player. That’s his right, we respect that and have no problem with that.”
