KFC Regional Roadshows a hit

The entire Melbourne Victory playing group spent the last weekend at regional centres around Victoria, as part of the club’s annual KFC Regional Roadshows.

The boys visited Shepparton, Traralgon, Bendigo, Ballarat and Geelong, with thousands of fans meeting their heroes around our state.

Victory’s stars were on hand to sign autographs and pose for photos with their young fans, while also providing some playing advice to the local sides who took part in small-sided football throughout the day.

The number of kids at each regional centre was overwhelming and the players thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the young footballers.

Defender Adrian Leijer said he enjoyed meeting the big number of fans who ventured out to his hometown of Geelong.

“It was great to be back in Geelong and seeing so many youngsters participating in football,” Leijer said.

“Our KFC Roadshows are always great fun and something that I know all the players look forward to each year.”

The KFC regional Roadshows are one of the many ways in which the club engage with communities to provide a positive football experience and encourage participation in football at a grassroots level.

This year, the KFC Panna Cage also made an appearance at two of the Roadshows, giving fans a chance to test their skills against some of their heroes.

Melbourne Victory would like to thank KFC and all Regional Football Coordinators for their help in the organisation and delivery of the events.
