Melbourne Victory attacker Marco Rojas has been named in the New Zealand squad for lead-up matches ahead of the FIFA Confederations Cup.

Rojas, 25, was included in a 23-man squad for matches against Northern Ireland, Belarus and Irish side Cabinteely FC in June.

New Zealand coach Anthony Hudson expects his squad to be the same for the FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia, barring injury.

A 32-time international who has five goals for the All Whites, Rojas enjoyed a fine Hyundai A-League campaign.

He scored 12 league goals and had 11 assists, helping Victory reach the Grand Final.

New Zealand is in Group A for the FIFA Confederations Cup, drawn against host Russia, Portugal and Mexico.

Rojas’ inclusion comes days after fellow Victory attacker James Troisi was named in the Caltex Socceroos’ initial 30-man squad for the tournament, an upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifier and a friendly against Brazil.
