A week after winning the AFC Asian Cup, Mark Milligan took some time to reflect on the campaign that crowned the Socceroos champions of Asia.
Melbourne Victory captain Milligan returned to the club on Thursday after a short break following the Socceroos’ successful campaign to secure the AFC Asian Cup.
Milligan, who was one of Australia’s best players in the epic final on January 31, spoke about the landmark result for Australian football, describing it as the highlight of his international career.

Milligan will miss Saturday’s Melbourne Derby due to suspension but is available to wear the captain’s armband on February 14 when Melbourne Victory heads to Allianz Stadium to take on Sydney FC.
