Melbourne Victory Football Club has welcomed chef and restaurateur, George Calombaris, as the club-s number one ticket-holder for the 2012/13 Hyundai A-League season.

Calombaris was presented with his shirt at the Chairman’s Function at Etihad Stadium, just moments before kick-off at the Melbourne Derby on Saturday.

Calombaris, an avid Melbourne Victory supporter, has become a household name as a co-judge on the popular Network Ten series MasterChef Australia in addition to owning and operating seven of Melbourne-s most successful restaurants and one in Mykonos, Greece.

“I am extremely humbled to be presented with this honour,” Calombaris said.

“After being a fan since Melbourne Victory-s very first game in 2005, I-m excited to be front and centre as the club-s number one ticket holder. Melbourne Victory-s involvement with children and football also provides another synergy as I am extremely passionate about caring for our future generations.”

“We are thrilled to officially welcome our favourite celebrity chef George to the Melbourne Victory family,” said Chairman Anthony Di Pietro. “George has always been a terrific Victory man and to have him onboard in an official capacity is fantastic.”
