Record numbers have enjoyed a memorable Melbourne Victory Masterclass in the July school holidays.

More than 125 kids of all ages and football abilities took part in a unique school holiday program at the home of football in Australia, AAMI Park.

Behind the scenes tours, a chance to meet the Melbourne Victory playing squad and coaching from the club’s senior coaching staff all made the experience one the Masterclass participants will never forget.

For the second time, the club has also run an ‘elite’ element of the Masterclass program, headed up by MVFC Youth Coaches. Players aged from 14-16 took part in the program and allowed the future stars of Victorian football to learn to play the Victory way.

Coach Kevin Muscat, who met the participants and was on hand to impart his advice, said the talent on display was at an extremely high level.

“We were certainly surprised and encouraged by just how talented the kids were,” Muscat said.

“It was a real thrill to see them all enjoy their football experience and I’ve got no doubt this won’t be the last we’ll see of them here at Melbourne Victory.”

Kids who attended got to see inside the players’ only area of AAMI Park, including meeting rooms, change rooms and more – as well as training on the same pitch the senior squad do every day.

adidas, who helped kit out all the participants in their very own training top, were also on hand at the Masterclass, with kids getting a chance to see the latest in boots worn by players at this year’s FIFA World Cup, plus all kids received an adidas gift voucher.
