Meet Melbourne Victory stars this weekend

Melbourne Victory supporters have two opportunities to meet their heroes ahead of the Hyundai A-League 2010 Grand Final, with players appearing at the Lord Mayor’s Student Welcome this Saturday and Viva Victoria on Sunday.

Melbourne Victory supporters have two opportunities to meet their heroes ahead of the Hyundai A-League 2010 Grand Final, with players appearing at the Lord Mayor’s Student Welcome this Saturday and Viva Victoria on Sunday.

Melbourne Victory and the City of Melbourne will welcome local, regional, interstate and international students to Federation Square this Saturday, March 13, with selected Melbourne Victory players in attendance between 2pm and 3.30pm.

The Melbourne Victory players will be available for photos and autographs, while there will also be Melbourne Victory giveaways and the chance to win signed Melbourne Victory merchandise.

The award winning event, produced by young people for young people, gives students an opportunity to meet other students, enjoy cultural arts and dance performances from around the world.

As well as a variety of entertainment, the event will feature an official welcome to Melbourne by Lord Mayor Robert Doyle.

With the AFC Champions League in full swing, Melbourne Victory will continue to support cultural diversity and bringing people together through football this Sunday, March 14 at Viva Victoria at Federation Square.

Selected Melbourne Victory players will be in attendance at the festival from 2.30pm until 4.30pm for autographs and photos, while there will be giveaways and signed Melbourne Victory merchandise up for grabs.

Melbourne Victory’s major charity partner Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation will also be in attendance to raise awareness of organ and tissue donations through its rainbow shoelaces campaign.

Viva Victoria is the key event of Cultural Diversity Week in Victoria and is a one-day festival of over 60 cultures that have enriched the state.

The festival will feature two stages of music from around the world, a vibrant marketplace of quality handmade products and an exceptional selection of traditional foods.
