Melbourne Asian Cup returns

Melbourne Asian Cup returns

Melbourne Victory is proud to support the Melbourne Asian Cup tournament, now in its second year.

We are delighted to have the opportunity to support football at the grassroots level, to showcase young talent from diverse communities and to engage people in the community through football.

The Melbourne Chinese Soccer Association is once again delivering a sensational community football tournament.

With support from Melbourne Victory, the Asian Cup 2015, Football Federation Victoria and the Victorian Multicultural Commission this tournament has become a major event on the community sports calendar.

Sixteen teams representing 14 Asian countries and guest nations are taking part this year.

Round 3 saw some incredibly strong football from all teams but sadly saw the departure of teams from Malaysia, Zambia, East Timor, Hong Kong, Burma, China, Thailand and Iran.

We look forward to welcoming these teams back in 2015.

Eight teams remain in the competition and have earned the right to compete in the quarter finals at Darebin International Sports Centre on Sunday, November 30.

As excitement builds and we look to the final on December 13 at Etihad Stadium ahead of our clash with Sydney FC and we wish all teams good luck in the quarter finals.

The following fixtures will take place at Darebin International Sports Centre on Sunday, November 30:
Japan v Vietnam, Pitch 2, 1pm
Australia v Iraq, Pitch 3, 1pm
Indonesia v Afghanistan 2, Pitch 2, 3pm
Afghanistan v Australia A, Pitch 3, 3pm
