The Smith Family Ambassador Matthew Kemp, along with Melbourne Victory teammates Nathan Elasi, Robbie Kruse, Sutee Suksomkit and Rodrigo Vargas were among more than 50 volunteers who helped The Smith Family pack Christmas food hampers for needy families last week.

“This is a perfect opportunity for Melbourne Victory to give back to the community, and it was great for us to get down here and get our hands dirty and assist with the packing of the Christmas hampers,” Kemp said.

“It’s the least we can do to help The Smith Family in providing so many Australian families with assistance, especially during the Christmas period.”

The Smith Family acknowledged its supporters with its Annual Supporters Lunch last week, with Melbourne Victory Youth Captain Aziz Behich meeting young fan Kalukula, a Learning for Life student from Shepparton who was a winner in The Smith Family’s I Love Australia writing competition.

Melbourne Victory encourages all members and supporters to donate to The Smith Family’s Christmas Appeal by calling 1800 024 069 or visiting www.thesmithfamily.com.au. Donations $2 and over are fully tax deductible.
