Junior Club Victory coaches were treated to a behind the scenes tour from Melbourne Victory Head Coach, Ernie Merrick at AAMI Park on Saturday August 21.
The Inaugural ‘Club Victory Coaches Forum- provided the opportunity for junior coaches to have not only an insight into Merrick as a coach at both a junior and senior level, but also to experience the manner in which a professional football club is run. The forum also aimed to provide unique feedback which each coach could take back and implement within their own junior football club.
Following the presentation, Melbourne Victory CEO Geoff Miles hosted a tour of the back of house area of AAMI Park, including the new gymnasium and pool facilities, culminating in a walk up the player-s race and onto the AAMI Park pitch. The group then watched the team-s final training session before the clash against North Queensland Fury.
Cardinia United-s Mark Dunn thoroughly enjoyed the Club Victory Coaches Forum saying, “this-morning was such a fantastic experience, it was enjoyed by all my guys, they walked away so motivated and happy. Once again, Thankyou for the amazing job that you are doing for the people at grass roots level”.
The program focuses on developing strong relationships with a key group of junior football clubs in metropolitan Melbourne, by generating contact and exclusive opportunities to not only the junior players at each of the twenty participating clubs, but also the coaches, administrators and volunteers who support them.
