Melbourne Victory captain Mark Milligan is expecting a tight match this Saturday night, as a new-look Melbourne Derby plays out for the first time.

With Melbourne City, formerly Heart, take to the field on Saturday, it will be the first time Victory fans see the new-look City squad.

Complete with high-profile signing David Villa, City is yet to register a win this season, having played out draws against Sydney and Newcastle.

Speaking after his side’s training session on Tuesday, Milligan said he was looking forward to facing off against a strong City team.

“When we’ve played them and they haven’t been in the greatest of form they seem to play their best football on derby day,” Milligan said.

“It’s our home game and we’re going to want to go into it and stamp our style on the match.

“I don’t think their situation changes our mind-set at all.”
