Melbourne Victory can confirm that midfielder Mark Milligan has sought an opportunity in Saudi Arabia and will depart the club with immediate effect.
While the club rejected two previous offers for his services over the past seven days, it became clear that Milligan was seeking to move.
Head Coach Kevin Muscat said, “we obviously did everything we could to keep him, but Mark was adamant this was an opportunity he wanted to take up.”
“It’s a very disappointing outcome, but these things happen in football so we must move forward and make sure we’re ready to tackle Newcastle on Saturday.”
The club wishes Mark and his family well with their future endeavours.
