Mark Milligan has been handed a suspension following the Match Review Panel’s review of the Melbourne Derby.

The independent Match Review Panel (MRP) – consisting of Simon Micallef (Chair), Alan Davidson and Alan Contini – convened to consider the following incident from Round 12 of the Hyundai A-League:

“The incident involving Mark Milligan (Melbourne Victory) in or around the 14th minute of Melbourne Victory-s game against Melbourne Heart on Saturday evening.
The MRP has the authority to consider the incident pursuant to clause 9.1(c)(i) of the Regulations. In reviewing the incident during this afternoon-s meeting, the MRP took into consideration submissions lodged by Melbourne Victory.

The MRP determined that the Player had committed the offence of “Assault on a Player (e.g. violent conduct when not challenging for the ball)” against Jonatan Germano and proposed a sanction of the Mandatory Match Suspension plus one (1) addition Match. This is the minimum sanction for such an offence under the A-League Disciplinary Regulations.”
