Melbourne Victory Captain, Kevin Muscat has joined forces with teammate Adrian Leijer and Melbourne Heart players John Aloisi and Simon Colosimo, in a bid to raise much needed funds for the Red Cross Victorian Floods Appeal.

Terrible flooding across western Victoria has affected 62 towns, including hard-hit Horsham, Beaufort, Charlton, Echuca, Warracknabeal and Rochester, with about 1730 properties now affected. Upon hearing of the devastation, Muscat was only too happy to help.

“As a proud Victorian, helping the Red Cross to raise funds for the victims of the recent floods was the least I could do.”

“To their credit, when I spoke to Adrian, John and Simon none of the boys had to think twice. They all knew how tough some Victorian-s are doing it at the moment and wanted to get involved in any way they could.”

“Sport is often the thing that holds country towns together, so it-s important that we – as professional athletes – do what we can to help those affected bounce back, and bounce back quickly.”

The highest bidder will enjoy a once in a lifetime football opportunity consisting of the following;

•The winner and 3 friends will join Kevin Muscat, Adrian Leijer, Simon Colosimo and John Aloisi for dinner at the Crown Entertainment Complex at a date to be determined.

•They will be presented with 4 personally signed football shirts (2 x Melbourne Victory and 2 x Melbourne Heart).

•A fully catered box for 10 people at Melbourne Victory v Gold Coast United on Sunday, January 30, 2011.

•A fully catered box for 10 people at Melbourne Heart v Central Coast Mariners on Friday, February 4, 2011.
