Melbourne Victory's Championship winning National Youth League side is on the lookout for the next crop of young talent.

Youth League coach Darren Davies said talented players currently playing in the State and U-21 leagues were already being identified and the club's trial process was about to begin.

"We will continue to watch players in the coming weeks and months with a view to inviting the majority of these to trial with us here at AAMI Park," Davies said.

"Aside from winning the Championship in 2012/13, we also had six youth players make their debut in the Hyundai A-League, with several going on to sign A-League contracts. A bi-product of this success means we now have several positions available in our youth side for the 2013/14 season.

"You just have to look at players like Connor Pain - who was making his mark in the VPL in 2012 and now finds himself heading off to the FIFA U-20 World Cup this month - or Andrew Nabbout and Dylan Murnane - both picked from the State Leagues last season, so there is certainly talent out there.

"If the young men really want to be a part of Melbourne Victory Football Club, and a part of the future success of this club, then there are certainly opportunities and Ange (Postecoglou) has certainly proven he will give youngsters a chance."

Davies said under FFA regulations, no club is able to actually sign a player to a NYL contract until four weeks prior to the season - around mid-September this year.

"There is plenty of time for us to have a look at players and give them a chance to impress within their own club environment and we can't wait to see them show us what they've got - you never know, you could be the next Andrew Nabbout," Davies said.
