Melbourne Victory makes the trip to the North Geelong Warriors in the NPL2 West on Saturday.

Summary

Victory saw its three-match unbeaten run ended with a 2-1 loss to Moreland City in Round 7.

Yazid Said, 19, scored his fifth goal of the campaign in the second half as Victory pushed for a point at Epping Stadium.

However, despite dominating most of the second half, Victory was unable to find an equaliser as it fell short in its comeback bid.

Victory is fourth on the table ahead of its trip to Elcho Park, where it faces the third-placed Warriors.

In four away trips so far this season, Victory has claimed two wins and lost just once, scoring 12 goals.

Victory and North Geelong last met in June last year, playing out a tough 0-0 draw at Elcho Park.

Head coach Gareth Naven’s pre-match thoughts

“We just need to transplant the second half [against Moreland] and start like that at the beginning of the game. Let’s move the second half and use that as our way to start the game against North Geelong. Obviously that’s just about good energy, good intent, our attitude is at a level that we know it is and we can perform at.”
