Pain, Geria sign new Victory deals

Melbourne Victory Football Club is delighted to announce that young stars Connor Pain and Jason Geria have extended their contracts with the Club for a further two years until the end of the 2016/17 Hyundai A-League season.

Both 21 years-of-age, Pain has represented Melbourne Victory in 32 A-League fixtures since his debut against Western Sydney Wanderers in Round 21, 2013 while Geria has featured in 30 A-League matches following his debut against Perth Glory in round 26 of the same year.

Club Football Operations Manager Paul Trimboli said that the signing of Pain and Geria to two-year contract extensions augured well for the club moving forward.

“Both Connor and Jason are quality individuals and fine young players so to have both of them commit to our club for a further two years is a great outcome for Melbourne Victory.”

Pain, a former Bentleigh Greens Soccer Club player was thrilled to be able to commit to the Club for another two years.

“The Club has been so supportive of me since I arrived and it’s a great privilege to be able to continue my career at Melbourne Victory,” Pain said.

“It is always a great experience representing the Club in front of so many proud and passionate fans so I’m over the moon to be a part of that going forward and I thank the Club immensely for the opportunity.”

Canberra-born Geria was equally excited about being part of the squad at Melbourne Victory until the end of 2017.

“I’m very proud to be a Melbourne Victory player and to extend that for another two years is very exciting for me,” Geria said.

“The playing group at Melbourne Victory is very tight and very committed and that makes us all strive to achieve the goals we set ourselves and I’m looking forward to playing for the Club for the next two seasons as it is going to be a very exciting period.”
