Melbourne Victory strongly recommends that those who plan to attend Sunday’s massive double-header at AAMI Park catch public transport and aim to arrive early!
Due to a UFC event at Rod Laver Arena which concludes at 5pm and an Olympic Boulevard road closure, the Olympic Park precinct is going to extremely busy.
Parking
Yarra Park at the MCG will be open with limited capacity. Gate 3 will open at 10.00am and Gate 5 at 12.00pm. Once full both carparks will close and not take any more cars in. Patrons are advised to arrive early given several events are on the precinct on Sunday.
Temporary changes to Olympic Boulevard access
A section of Olympic Boulevard will be closed from Punt Road to Entrance F at AAMI Park to prepare the tram tracks for the new accessible tram stop on Swan Street near Richmond Station later this year.
- When: 11pm, Thursday 7 February – 6am, Tuesday 12 February
- Where: AAMI Park to Punt Road
Tram 70 (Wattle Park) will also be affected by this road closure between AAMI Park (Stop 7D) and Richmond Station (Stop 8) on Swan Street.
During this time, extensive detour signage, public advertising and PR activities will encourage visitors to the precinct to choose public transport. For those who must drive, the recommended access to the precinct is via Alexandra Avenue or Batman Avenue.
