Melbourne Victory makes the trip to Wellington to face the Phoenix in the Hyundai A-League on Sunday.

Summary

Victory heads to Sky Stadium on the back of a 4-1 loss to Sydney FC which marked its first defeat in three league games.

Marco Rojas opened the scoring for Victory at Marvel Stadium with a fine individual effort, before it was beaten.

Rojas’ goal was his second in as many games before the star attacker suffered an ankle injury in the second half.

Making matters worse for Victory, defender Tim Hoogland was sent off late and is serving a one-match suspension.

It will also be without Giancarlo Gallifuoco for the trip to Wellington after the defender picked up his fifth yellow card of the Hyundai A-League season.

Victory is unbeaten in its past seven meetings with the Phoenix, although five of those have been draws.

With six games remaining in its regular season, Victory is seven points behind sixth-placed Western United.
