School Sport Victoria

Melbourne Victory and School Sport Victoria are focused on developing grassroots football and supporting the explosive growth of the game throughout Victoria.

This key partnership has seen the creation of the Victory Cup for primary schools competition and the Victory Cup for secondary schools competition.

Melbourne Victory and School Sport Victoria have also introduced the Premier League competition for senior secondary school students.

In recent years, participation rates of junior football have increased dramatically with many children seeing football as a fresh new alternative compared to other more traditional sporting codes.

School Sport Victoria provides regular sporting opportunities to over 74 per cent of Victorian school students. They currently operate in 2300 schools, engaging 550,000 students in government, catholic and independent schools.

Melbourne Victory and School Sport Victoria have developed a strong partnership for primary and secondary school football competitions.
