Shepparton to host decider against VPL’s best

Football Federation Victoria and Greater Shepparton City Council today announced that Deakin Reserve, Shepparton will host the decider between the best of the Victorian Premier League and Melbourne Victory on Saturday, July 4 (kick off 2pm).

Football Federation Victoria CEO Mark Rendell is looking forward to bringing Hyundai A-League football to Shepparton.

“We are delighted to have the decider being played in Shepparton,” Rendell said.

“Hopefully we get a great crowd at Deakin Reserve to cheer on Victoria-s best footballers.”

Rendell hopes this match will be the beginning of many more in regional Victoria.

“There is a fantastic football community in regional Victoria, and we are excited about tapping into that.”

Melbourne Victory took out the first match 2-0 at Olympic Park Stadium, but the best of the VPL overcame the reigning Hyundai A-League Premiers and Champions 3-1 at Mansion Stadium in the second match.

Excluding any injuries, both sides should have all players available for the match.

Tickets are being are available from the Greater Shepparton City Council, 90 Welsford Street, Shepparton, and the Greater Shepparton Visitor Information Centre, 534 Wyndham Street, Shepparton.

Entry for adults is $12, concession $8 and children $2.
