Melbourne Victory’s Westfield W-League assistant coach Kat Smith has named as Female Coach of the Year at the rebel Female Football Week National Awards.

Smith worked alongside Jeff Hopkins during the 2017/18 Westfield W-League season, helping the team to improve on recent campaigns with three wins and two draws.

She has been at the club since the 2013/14 season, a campaign which saw Victory crowned Westfield W-League Champions following a 2-0 win over Brisbane Roar in the Grand Final at Lakeside Stadium.

Smith’s contribution to the game is profound. She juggles her assistant coach role at Melbourne Victory with the head coach role at National Premier League side Galaxy United and an analyst/assistant coach role with the Junior Matildas, Australia’s U17 National Team.

Melbourne Victory would like to congratulate Kat Smith on her award and recognise her contribution to women’s football.
