Melbourne Victory winger Kosta Barbarouses is already having one of his finest seasons as a Hyundai A-League player.

With ten goals and three assists to his name, Barbarouses is Victory’s joint top-scorer alongside Ola Toivonen.

Having featured in every A-League game so far, the New Zealander has scored six in his last six appearances – including a hat-trick against Brisbane Roar.

Ahead of the Melbourne Derby at AAMI Park, Barbarouses will be hoping to add to his impressive goal count.

Seven of Barbarouses’ 55 A-League goals have been scored against City, making them his second favourite side to play against. Only Brisbane Roar have conceded more to Barbarouses, with a total of eight goals – five of which were scored this season.

The winger’s last Melbourne Derby goal came in the 12th minute of Round 22 last season, assisted by Besart Berisha.

This season, Barbarouses has made a habit of finding the net in the second half – scoring 70% of his tally in the final 45 minutes. While 55% of his A-League career goals have been scored after half-time.

The 29-year-old has also clocked more minutes than any other outfield player for Victory this season, with a total of 1,620 – only 90 minutes less than Lawrence Thomas.

The winger has also attempted more crosses and had more shots on target than any other Victory player – testing the opponents with 38 crosses and 26 accurate shots.

Barbarouses’ impressive numbers in attack show how integral he is to Victory’s forward line. Barbarouses is now two goals away from his goal count of 12 last season and is on course to surpass that number by the end of the season.
