Melbourne Victory is committed to playing its Hyundai A-League community round fixtures in Launceston and Melbourne Victory Managing Director, Richard Wilson said the game against the high-flying Mariners is a great opportunity for Tasmanian sports fans to enjoy another taste of A-League football, “The people of Tasmania have always supported our club when we-ve played here and it-s great to be heading down again after last season-s successful match (against Gold Coast United), as well as our extremely beneficial pre-season tour that saw us play games in Launceston and Hobart.”
“We-ve scheduled the game for a Saturday evening, and with kick-off at 5:30pm we hope to see plenty of families from the North and South of Tasmania in the stands wearing blue and cheering us on.
“Given the Mariners success over the past two seasons this will be a high-quality game featuring two of the A-League-s biggest teams,” Mr Wilson added.
Melbourne Victory, in conjunction with FFT, has developed membership and ticketing models exclusive to fans in Tasmania in order to provide them with a convenient and cost-effective way of attending Hyundai A-League matches played in their state, as well as those in Melbourne.
