Ola Toivonen smashed a Melbourne Victory record with his 10th Hyundai A-League goal for the club against Sydney FC on Saturday.

The Swedish star, 32, brought up 10 league goals quicker than any other player in the club’s history.

Toivonen curled in a wonderful free-kick from 25 yards during the Round 16 encounter against the Sky Blues at AAMI Park.

With 10 in 13 appearances, he bettered the previous mark shared by Archie Thompson and Besart Berisha, who needed 19 games to reach that tally for Victory.

We take a look at Toivonen’s flying start to his Victory career.
