Traore red card referred to Committee

Traore red card referred to Committee

Adama Traore’s sending off against Melbourne City has been referred to the Independent Disciplinary and Ethics Committee.

The Match Review Panel has considered an incident involving Victory’s Traore in the 30th minute of the Melbourne Derby on Saturday, 17 April 2021.

The Match Review Panel has authority to consider the incident as Traore was issued with a direct red card by the referee.

It has been determined that Traore had committed the offence of “Unsporting conduct toward a Match Official”.

The matter has been referred to the Independent Disciplinary and Ethics Committee for hearing and determination of whether, having regard to all the circumstances, the offence is sufficiently proven to warrant the imposition of an additional sanction in addition to the mandatory match suspension which must always be served.

The Independent Disciplinary and Ethics Committee hearing date will be confirmed shortly.
