Melbourne Victory suffered a 4-0 loss to Melbourne City in the Westfield W-League Melbourne Derby in Bulleen on Sunday.

Looking for back-to-back wins, Victory fought hard in front of a healthy crowd at David Barro Stadium, but a Larissa Crummer brace and goals from Jennifer Beattie and Kim Little saw City claim its win.

Victory was lively early and Natasha Dowie went close to opening the scoring in the second minute, but her shot from an angle was saved.

Beattie hit the crossbar with a header for City and Crummer also struck the woodwork.

Victory’s pace looked its mostly likely outlet as City scrambled away a chance as Dowie threatened once more.

City took the lead in the 36th minute through Beattie, who headed in a Little corner.

Crummer doubled City’s lead nine minutes into the second half, side-footing a finish into the top corner after a pass from Lisa De Vanna.

That duo combined again to add a third as Crummer tapped in a De Vanna cross to make it 3-0 before Little struck soon after.

Victory will look to bounce back when it hosts Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday.
