Victory to face Canberra’s Tuggeranong United

Melbourne Victory have drawn Canberra side, Tuggeranong United, in the Round of 16 of the FFA Cup.

The Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16 has thrown up a host of mouth-watering match ups after the draw was held at Fox Sports studios on Friday night.

Former Socceroos Alex Tobin and Paul Reid conducted the draw to decide the four Member Federation v Hyundai A-League encounters, three all-Member Federation and one all-Hyundai A-League clash.

Victory was among the last to be drawn and will head to Canberra in mid-September for the clash.

The exact date and location of the match is expected to be confirmed in the coming week.

The eight matches in the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16 will consist of four matches a night across two nights, scheduled for Tuesday 16 September and Tuesday 23 September. Fox Sports will broadcast a match on both nights of the Round of 16 and then every match from the Quarter Finals onwards.

Victory secured its path through to the Round of 16 with a 2-0 win over WA NPL side, Bayswater City SC, while the ‘Tuggies’ got through to the next stage after a dramatic penalty shootout win over Tasmania’s South Hobart in the Apple Isle.
