Victory gets into the Christmas spirit

Victory gets into the Christmas spirit

Melbourne Victory fans must’ve thought all their Christmases had come at once when the team disposed of cross-town rivals Melbourne Heart last Saturday night, but we hope there’s plenty more where that came from this weekend!

Melbourne Victory fans must-ve thought all their Christmases had come at once when the team disposed of cross-town rivals Melbourne Heart last Saturday night, but we hope there-s plenty more where that came from this weekend!

Saturday-s clash with Perth Glory (kick-off 7:00pm) promises to be a cracker, as we look to make it back-to-back wins for the first time this season. And with the Victory women also in action as a curtain raiser at AAMI Park, fans are in for a smorgasbord of football action (click here for tickets or call Ticketek on 132 849).

Santa has put his Christmas routine on hold and will fly in for the evening to distribute presents to the kids prior to the game and will be stationed next to the Nova boy outside Entrance F. The gifts don-t stop there either. There will be huge discounts on official Reebok gear available, with a whopping $45 off all Melbourne Victory playing shirts. Don-t pay $125 – head to the Victory Shop out the front of AAMI Park on Olympic Boulevard or the merchandise booths in the Eastern and Western stands and you-ll snap them up for just $80!

Victory striker Archie Thompson will also appear on the big-screen, asking his team-mates for their Christmas wishes at Coach, Ernie Merrick-s Christmas BBQ. This version of Victory Vision is one not to be missed as Archie hams it up with the team.

If you can manage to turn your attention away from the on-field action, keep an eye out for the Nova Fanatic and score $50 cash on the spot. Here a clue: what-s small, green, has big ears and helps a big red man in the lead-up to Christmas? If you spot them, go up and ask “Are you the Nova Fanatic?” and you could score the cash.

Melbourne Victory stars will also get into the Christmas spirit by handing out signed mini-football-s after the final whistle, so stick around because you never know your luck!

The club is keen to celebrate an early Christmas on Saturday night, so get along and pack the stands as Melbourne Victory looks to make it two in a row.
