Martineau said she was thrilled to have signed with Victory.

“To join Victory this season is a fantastic opportunity for me personally and I’m really proud to have the chance to play in the W-League this season,” Martineau said.

“Victory is a wonderful club and since I arrived everyone has been extremely professional and welcoming. Jeff has been very clear with the role he wants me to play and I’m really enjoying how challenging training has been to date.

“As a playing group we’ve spoken about building on the foundations the team has established over the previous seasons and I’m really looking forward to the games starting in just a few weeks.”

W-League Head Coach, Jeff Hopkins, said Martineau would bring plenty of experience to the Victory squad.

“We’re really pleased to have signed Natalie for the 2020/21 season,” Hopkins said.

“Natalie has been extremely professional since she arrived at Victory and has fitted in really well. She has played in a number of championships with South Melbourne, has been one of the standout midfielders in the NPLW and is a natural leader.

“We’re extremely pleased with the squad we are assembling, and we believe Natalie will not only complement our midfield stocks but help drive the team’s standards and expectations throughout the upcoming campaign.”
