Press play on the video above to hear Barbarouses discuss Saturday’s clash against the Reds, our qualification for the AFC Champions League, plus much, much more.

Barbarouses said the challenge of Hyundai A-League, AFC Champions League and international football was one he would relish.

“We’re feeling really good, the boys are feeling confident,” Barbarouses said.

“Every team has been up and down this season, except for maybe Brisbane who have been pretty consistent. We’ve started to pick ourselves up as well and we’re starting to look good.”

Barbarouses spent two weeks on the sidelines, after rolling his ankle in training. The New Zealand international made his return last Saturday night, helping his side to qualify for the Asian Champions League.

“The boss (Kevin Muscat) eased me into it, I played 65 minutes last weekend. So, in the next few games I still have to ease into it a bit, but I am feeling pretty good.”

International football for the All Whites is also on the agenda for Barbarouses, with a trip to Tokyo to take on Japan in a friendly scheduled for the March FIFA international window.

“We’ve all got a lot of games coming up and I’ve got national team duties, so we have to look at our depth – everyone has to be ready to go and I’m sure we’ll use everyone in the squad in the next few months.”
