VIDEO: Muscat confirms Traore return

Melbourne Victory coach Kevin Muscat says Adama Traore is a “certain starter” for Saturday’s match against rivals Sydney FC.

Melbourne Victory coach Kevin Muscat says Adama Traore is a “certain starter” for Saturday’s match against rivals Sydney FC.

Press play on the video below to hear Muscat’s thoughts on the match, his starting XI and much, much more.

While Traore will return, young defender Nick Ansell won’t be available for selection.

Muscat said a decision on defender Pablo Contreras was also still to be made following his recent injury concern that saw him miss the 1-0 loss to Brisbane.

“Pablo has been struggling a little bit and I wanted to make sure we’ve got some options if he’s no good or if he does start and can’t finish the game,” Muscat said.

Muscat also confirmed recent reports that talks with midfielder Gui Finkler had broken down were completely false.

“The talks are on-going and they’re healthy,” he said.

“They’re healthy discussions. There’s certainly no issues as was reported yesterday, falsely. The whole article was a joke if we’re honest. The dates were wrong. The lack of research was staggering.”
