Tom Rogic says he is looking forward to making the most of his loan move to Melbourne Victory.

Tom Rogic says he is looking forward to making the most of his loan move to Melbourne Victory.

Speaking after arriving in Melbourne this morning, Rogic said he was pleased to be able to return to the Hyundai A-League as a Melbourne Victory player, after finalising his loan deal from Scottish Premier League side, Celtic FC.

Press play on the video above to hear Rogic’s first impressions of Victory and the prospect of his potential debut on Australia Day.

“Obviously it’s a discussion between the two clubs to reach an agreement first and foremost,” Rogic said.

“I think it’s important for me in this stage of my career to be playing so that’s the main reason for the move.”

Rogic said he knew it was important for him to be getting as much game time as possible in a World Cup year.

“I feel fit, I feel good,” he said.

“At 21, the thought of possibly being at a World Cup in Brazil is pretty special.

“It’s certainly a big factor. I don’t think there’s any Australian footballer right now that wouldn’t want to be a part of that World Cup.”

Melbourne Victory Coach Kevin Muscat said Rogic was a good chance to be involved in Sunday’s Australia Day clash.

Muscat also said Australian football fans would benefit from being able to see Rogic back in the A-League.

“Not only for Victorians, Melbourne Victory supporters and fans, but I think for Australia, it’s exciting that he’ll be gracing our stadiums around the country.”
