Melbourne Victory’s Archie Thompson says his side is prepared to give its all in this Saturday’s AFC Champions League playoff.

Press play on the video above to hear Thompson’s thoughts on Saturday’s opponents, the importance of the Champions League to the club and much more.

Thompson, who has played in the competition in the past, said a big emphasis had been placed on qualifying for the group stages of the Champions League.

But the club’s leading goalscorer said he and his teammates weren’t underestimating the strengths of Thai powerhouse, Muangthong United.

“We’ve done a bit of homework on them this morning and we know exactly what players they’ve got and who’s dangerous,” Thompson said.

“We’ve watched a bit of the footage and they’ve got the big fella Bothroyd … what we’ve seen of him this morning, he’s a danger. We know they’re going to be a good team.

“They’ve got other players that can be threats all over the pitch. We’ve got to come and we’ve got to turn up and play to this best we can to qualify.”
