Melbourne Victory has landed in Tasmania for its pre-season training camp and both captain Mark Milligan and coach Kevin Muscat couldn’t be happier with the facilities.

Muscat’s men will take on Sydney FC at North Hobart Oval on Sunday, while Victory’s National Youth League side will also play on the day, with a match against a select Tasmanian XI to take place at the same venue prior to the all Hyundai A-League match-up.

Press play on the video below to hear what Mark Milligan and Kevin Muscat had to say, as the players trained for the first time on North Hobart Oval.

Milligan, who was this morning named in the Socceroos squad to face the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, said he was again impressed by the quality of the facilites in the southern most state.

“We are very fortunate, we’ve been coming down here for a couple of years and we always get spoilt with pitches when we come down, and this year is no different,” Milligan said.

“From a team’s perspective, it’s perfect timing. It’s a really good chance for the team to get together.

“We’ve been building well so far (this pre-season) and we’ve been working very hard away from games and I think it’s been showing on pitch.”

Muscat said the annual trip to Tasmania was always a huge success for the boys in blue.

“We’ve always been welcomed with open arms and we’ve always really enjoyed ourselves when we have come down here,” he said.

“The fact we decide to come here and it’s our last real hit-out against A-League opposition suggests we do take it very seriously.

“Sunday’s match gives us another opportunity to take another step in the right direction.”

Sunday’s match will be live-streamed on www.MelbourneVictory.com.au from 12.15pm, with the clash vs Sydney FC to be streamed from 3pm.
