Melbourne Victory makes the trip to Adelaide to begin its Foxtel Y-League campaign on Saturday.

Summary

Victory, which finished second in Conference A last season, opens its 2018/19 campaign at VALO Football Centre.

Once again, Victory is in the conference alongside the Reds, Brisbane Roar, Perth Glory and City.

Gareth Naven’s team wrapped up its preparations with a 4-4 draw against City in its final friendly on Saturday.

Jack Palazzolo, who top scored for Victory during its most recent NPL2 West campaign, netted a brace in the draw.

Victory claimed two wins over Adelaide United last season, including a 4-3 success at Marden Sports Complex in January.

Head coach Gareth Naven’s pre-match thoughts

“Pre-season has been good. We’ve had an in-house match and a friendly against City, both were positive. We’re working on stuff we need to get better at and Round 1 is going to be a nice game against Adelaide away. It’s going to be very competitive. They don’t seem to be any different than we experienced last year and I’m looking forward to giving players the opportunity to play against them.”
